MenuDoro

A QR menu in 10 languages for Rome restaurants

Near the Pantheon, Trastevere or the Vatican, many guests can't read an Italian menu. MenuDoro shows the menu in their language and sends the order to the kitchen in Italian.

Roman dishes, explained

Cacio e pepe, carbonara, saltimbocca or carciofi alla giudia keep their names and get a translated description, so guests know what they are ordering.

Allergens in every language

The 14 EU allergens are shown in all 10 languages, and guests can filter out what they can't eat.

Who visits Rome

Istat: in 2025 Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence remained Italy's top four municipalities by overnight stays, with foreign guests making up more than three quarters of stays in all four. Rome alone accounted for 9.4% of all stays in Italy.

Allergens: Italian rules

Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 also covers non-prepacked food. Italy's Legislative Decree 231/2017 (art. 19(8)) requires restaurants to show allergens per dish before it is served, on a menu, register, sign or another equivalent system, digital included, kept clearly visible. If a digital system is used, the same information must also exist in written documentation that guests and inspectors can easily find. Alternatively, a notice can refer guests to staff, as long as that written documentation exists. Art. 19(10) requires the information in Italian, so keep the Italian version alongside the translations.

How it works

  1. Upload your menu as PDF, Excel or text (or send it to us and we upload it for free). Review it and publish.
  2. MenuDoro translates it into 10 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Greek and Chinese.
  3. Print one QR code per table. Guests scan it with their camera, no app to download, and see the menu in their language.
  4. They order from their phone. The ticket reaches the kitchen screen in your language, with table and dishes in writing.
