A 10-language QR menu for Florence restaurants
Florence fills its tables with guests from the US, the rest of Europe and Asia. MenuDoro shows each table the menu in its language and sends the ticket to the kitchen in Italian.

Who visits Florence
- In the first ten months of 2025 Florence recorded over 4 million arrivals and 9.7 million overnight stays; the US was the top market, with 29% of foreign stays (City of Florence, CST data).
- Istat: Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence are Italy's top four municipalities by stays, and foreign guests make up more than three quarters of stays in each.
Tuscan dishes, explained
Bistecca alla fiorentina, ribollita, pappa al pomodoro or lampredotto keep their names and get a short translated description. Say whether the bistecca is priced per 100 g or per kilo: it's a frequent question from foreign guests.
Allergens: Italian rules
Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 also covers non-prepacked food. Italy's Legislative Decree 231/2017 (art. 19(8)) requires restaurants to show allergens per dish before it is served, on a menu, register, sign or another equivalent system, digital included, kept clearly visible. If a digital system is used, the same information must also exist in written documentation that guests and inspectors can easily find. Alternatively, a notice can refer guests to staff, as long as that written documentation exists. Art. 19(10) requires the information in Italian, so keep the Italian version alongside the translations.
