Paper, PDF behind a QR, or a QR menu with ordering?
Each option has its place. This comparison tries to be fair, including when the answer isn't MenuDoro.

Printed menu
- For: no battery or signal needed, many guests like it, and a well-designed menu shows care.
- Against: reprinting for every price change, one language per menu (or crowded menus), and staff still explain dishes and take every order.
PDF behind a QR code
- For: almost free and quick to set up.
- Against: pinch-to-zoom on phones, no translation, no allergen filters, and every price change means a new PDF.
QR menu with ordering (MenuDoro)
- For: readable on phones, 10 languages, allergens shown and filterable, guests order from the table and the kitchen gets a written ticket in your language. Change a price once and it changes in every language.
- Against: costs €79.90/month (or €49.90/month paid yearly), VAT included; you print a QR per table and need a phone or tablet in the kitchen; some guests will still prefer paper.
How to decide
- Few international guests and a stable menu: paper, maybe with a PDF on your website.
- Lots of tourists, allergens to explain, or a floor team that can't keep up in season: a QR menu with ordering.
- Most common in tourist areas: both. Paper for those who ask, QR for languages and ordering.
How it works
- Upload your menu as PDF, Excel or text (or send it to us and we upload it for free). Review it and publish.
- MenuDoro translates it into 10 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Greek and Chinese.
- Print one QR code per table. Guests scan it with their camera, no app to download, and see the menu in their language.
- They order from their phone. The ticket reaches the kitchen screen in your language, with table and dishes in writing.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I try it without committing?
- Yes, the first MenuDoro month is free and we don't ask for a card.
- What if guests don't use the QR?
- They order from staff as usual. The QR is an option, not a requirement.
- Can I keep my printed menu design?
- Yes. MenuDoro doesn't touch your printed menu; it adds the digital version.
